WE'RE HOMING!!!

We're using Cats Protection's hands-free homing process so we can safely get our cats into the loving homes they've been waiting for. To read more about how it works go to our adopt a cat page at adopt-a-cat

Financial help with neutering and spaying

We offer financial assistance to those with low incomes to assist with the neutering and spaying of owned cats. Email neutering@peterborough.cats.org.uk to register your interest.

Why get your cat neutered?

Male cats are less likely to roam, fight or territory mark by spraying. They are less vulnerable to some cancers and diseases such as Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) or Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV) which can be sexually transmitted or caught through fighting. Male cats are more likely to be 'homebodies' as they lose the urge to find a mate.

Female cats can become pregnant at 4 months old and can have up to three litters of kittens a year. This puts enormous stress on a young cats body and can be costly feeding and providing veterinary treatment. It also stops female cats wailing during the mating season (January - August) leaving you with a better nights sleep! As with male cats, neutered female cats are less vulnerable to some cancers and diseases such as Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) or Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV) which can be sexually transmitted.

Please call us on 0345 371 2750 or email us neutering@peterborough.cats.org.uk  giving us your address, postcode and telephone number and a volunteer will call you to talk you through the process.

Feral Colonies

We are seeing a rise in the number of stray and abandoned cats which can lead to the rise of feral colonies. As a result of un-neutered females having kittens which are not given the chance to be handled or wanted by humans. If you are concerned this is or may become a problem in your area, then please call us on 0345 371 2750 for advice.
